My NEW district! |
I'm back in a car, but I guess the nice thing is is that I don't have to drive!
Tuesday morning, I put on my running shoes to go running. I went outside and took a couple of steps and noticed my right shoe was fitting tighter than usual. I took a couple of more steps to realize that there was something moving in my shoe! I quickly took it off and out comes, a big fat lizard! I hope my shoe didn't smell too bad, and I definitely disturbed it from its sleep...
Nyasha: I'm so blessed to be teaching him. He was so prepared to hear the gospel. This past week we were teaching him about the Word of Wisdom and he told us he didn't have any problems with it. He admitted that he used to drink and go clubbing with his family members and friends. But as he did, he came to a point where he realized that he actually didn't have any true friends. He didn't have anyone he could confide him, and when he got drunk, he always did things that he ended up regretting. So, he decided to just quit drinking and told us he started doing more things that made his life fulfilling. He expressed gratitude towards us teaching the WoW because it gave him a stronger motivation to stay away from those substances.
The GGC Boys: haha These guys are the best! (GGC = Gweru Golf Club) They were the ones who let us go golfing on Monday for free. All of them have Word of Wisdom issues, but they all expressed a desire to stop. Since the last time we've taught them, some of them have reduced their intake of alcohol/number of cigarettes and some have stopped all together. They were amazed at their progress, because although they had tried to quit before, this time around, it seemed much easier! They are all great potential priesthood holders, and some of them already have a desire to go and serve a mission like us!
Peterson: We followed up on his Book of Mormon reading this week and asked us to share his experience. He told us he knew it to be true: "This book has changed my life. I've understood everything I've read, and it makes me want to be a better person. The Book of Mormon purifies my heart." Peterson is such a great guy. He lives far from the church and so we're waiting for him to save up money for transport so he can attend church as well!
